Mechanism

To implement the design, I should understand and learn the mechanism first so as to enable the scales being mounted on the wall and work well.

So, I searched for the method to make a balance.

I am not going to make a sale with the hanged design,  but here they use the wood and let me understand the way for me to mount the scale should be drilling the screw into the wall.

Although they just simply using cardboard, but they are also using the screw to connect the stand of the centre and the horizontal stick.

This time the balance made by cardboard looks more pretty. instead of using screw, they simply use glue to stick the component. I believe using cardboard is more easy to work with but I don't think it is strong enough, but it can be my starting point to create a prototype.

While my design is not the hanging one, I don't need the wire. What inspired me is using wood finish stains The colour is quite good but it will keep the wood texture.

It is a very interesting design, the container can be mobile. What comes to my mind to implement is I can add more container as well as the weights and it is playful.

More, the design is simple. The similar part is the shape of the centre supporting the wave is also in a trianglular shape.

The tooling is very simple but the structure and design is more likely to be closer to my design. The weight should be on top but not the hanging one that the weight is underneath.

Noticing he make a hole for a strick so that the wire can go through and fix to the vertical stand. It is the same way as we drill the thick wooden board to the wall.

This is quite a good demo but I cannot simply use the wooden tongue depressor to make one because it is too thin and the holder for the weight cannot be larger that the horizontal stick because I think there should be no space between the wall and the balance if I have to hold the balance tightly but the screw.

As a result, the container should be a inner hole like the left model.
